36 Governors to carry emergency assembly over NLC deliberate strike

The 36 state governors are to carry an emergency assembly over the menace by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to embark on an industrial motion to demand that the Federal Authorities rescinds its resolution on the latest hike within the costs of petroleum merchandise and electrical energy.

NLC earlier introduced that it will proceed with its deliberate nationwide protest with impact from Sept. 28 over Federal Authorities refusal to reverse the hikes in electrical energy tariff and gas pump value.

The Nigerian Governors’ Discussion board (NGF) disclosed this in an announcement issued by its Head, Media and Public Affairs, Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, in Abuja on Wednesday.

Bello-Barkindo stated that the emergency assembly scheduled for 6pm on Thursday would search methods of settling the rift and discover a mutual settlement.

He stated that every one governors have been anticipated to attend the primary NGF emergency digital teleconference to think about the matter which he described as of pressing nationwide significance.

Bello-Barkindo stated that the matter must be shortly resolved so as to not worsen the already unhealthy scenario of Nigerians as attributable to the COVID-19 pandemic.
