Assault on Zulum’s convoy: 18 killed by terrorists’ bombs – Nigerian army

The Nigerian army says 18 individuals died within the assault on the convoy of Borno Governor, Babagana Zulum.

Coordinator Defence Media Operations, Main Normal John Enenche, gave the small print in an announcement.

He famous that 10 policemen, 4 troopers and 4 civilians had been killed.

The ambush occurred at Barwati village.

The army spokesman mentioned the terrorists planted Improvised Explosive Gadgets (IEDs) on the highway.

“The convoy of the Borno State Civilians Relocation Committee comprising Armed Forces of Nigeria, Nigeria Police Drive and Civilian Joint Job Drive was ambushed by members of the BHT/ISWAP at Barwati village on 25 of September 2020″, The Nation quoted him.

“The assault/ambush was nonetheless efficiently repelled by the gallant troops. Sadly, a complete of 18 lives together with four troopers, 10 Policemen and four civilians had been misplaced throughout the unhappy incident.”

Enenche confirmed that troops chased the insurgents and recovered three Nigeria Police autos stolen throughout the assault.

He added that one Boko Haram gun truck was captured.

“The casualties recorded had been because of the explosion from the a number of Improvised Explosive Gadgets (IEDs) planted on the highway by the terrorists.”

Enenche mentioned the Nigerian Military has deployed bomb and IED disposal groups to make sure efficient route scanning and clearance to forestall future incidence.
