Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has reacted to his suspension by a faction of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State.
The Governor, by his Chief Press Secretary, described the suspension as a joke taken too far.
DAILY POST reported earlier that Fayemi was suspended by the State Govt Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
His suspension was confirmed in an announcement signed by eight members of the manager committee on Friday.
They’re Senator Tony Adeniyi, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, Congressman Bimbo Daramola, Hon Robinson Ajiboye, Hon Oye Ojo, Hon (Dr) Adewale Omirin and Hon Femi Adeleye.
In his response to the purported suspension of Governor Kayode @kfayemi by an unknown group, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Yinka Oyebode, described it as a joke taken too far.
Oyebode stated the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a celebration is ruled by legal guidelines, including that members of the group can’t conceal underneath their latest suspension to announce a doubtful suspension they lack the locus to deal with.
“Whereas one would have dismissed their claims as one other failed try to polarise the celebration within the state, it is usually vital to place it on report that the motion of the group smacks of legal impersonation as none of those that signed the purported suspension letter are government members of the celebration at ward, Native authorities or state degree,” he stated in an announcement on Friday.
