BREAKING: US govt imposes visa ban on politicians who rigged elections in Nigeria

America of America has imposed visa ban on politicians, who it claimed undermined the conducts of the November 2019 governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa States.

This transfer is within the run-up to the September and October 2020 governorship polls in Edo and Ondo respectively.

The spokesperson for the Division of State, Morgan Ortagus, disclosed this in an announcement on Monday.

“In July 2019, we introduced the imposition of visa restrictions on Nigerians who undermined the February and March 2019 elections.

“In the present day, the Secretary of State is imposing extra visa restrictions on people for his or her actions surrounding the November 2019 Kogi and Bayelsa State elections and within the run as much as the September and October 2020 Edo and Ondo State elections,” the assertion learn partially.

It added that these people whose identities weren’t revealed, “operated with impunity on the expense of the Nigerian folks and have undermined democratic ideas.”

It stated the ban was in furtherance of its dedication to strengthening democracy in Nigeria.
