Delta govt approves date for major, secondary colleges resumption

The Delta State Authorities has accredited September 28 for the reopening of major and secondary colleges within the state.

The state Commissioner for Fundamental and Secondary Schooling,

Mr Patrick Ukah made this identified on Wednesday in Asaba.

Ukah stated colleges would re-open for the conclusion of the 2019/2020 tutorial session and the graduation of a brand new tutorial session, NAN reviews.

In line with him, secondary faculty college students in JSS 1, JSS 2, SSS 1 and SSS 2 which can be but to write down the second time period examination, will resume from Sept. 28 to Oct. 9.

He stated this was to allow them to organize for and write their second time period examinations, including that “boarding college students are anticipated to renew on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020’’.

“Additionally, pupils in major 4 and 5 who’re but to finish the second time period examination would resume on Oct. 6.’’

The commissioner stated that the second time period examinations could be waived for pupils in primaries one to 3.

Ukah stated that the resumption dates for the primary time period within the 2020/2021 tutorial session for pupils and college students in major and secondary colleges would run from Oct. 12 to Dec.18.

“Whereas the resumption date for the second time period is scheduled to begin on Jan. 4, and ends March 31, 2021, third time period is scheduled to begin from April 12 and ends by Aug.13, 2021,’’ he stated.

Ukah stated that the resumption for all nursery/pre-primary KG one to 3 pupils had been deferred until January 2021.

The commissioner suggested mother and father and guardians to avail themselves of the resumption dates to organize their youngsters and wards.
