Gov. Ortom reacts as Boko Haram assaults Borno Gov’s convoy, kills many policemen, troopers

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has condemned the assault on the convoy of Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, wherein about 15 individuals had been feared lifeless and others injured.

This was contained in an announcement to DAILY POST on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase.

Recent report means that over 30 individuals have died from the assault.

Twelve policemen, 13 civilians and 5 troopers had been confirmed lifeless from the assault.

The incident occurred round 2pm, whereas the convoy was heading to Baga city forward of presidency’s plan to return internally displaced individuals (IDPs) from Maiduguri to Baga.

The terrorists additionally seized and carted away one police armoured automotive, one gun truck belonging to the army and 6 authorities autos.

Governor Ortom sympathized along with his Borno State counterpart and described the assault as stunning and unlucky.

He expressed optimism that Governor Zulum won’t be deterred by the reprehensible ambush as he continues to work with safety businesses to revive peace to all components of his state.

Governor Ortom condoled with households of those that misplaced their lives within the assault and prayed God to grant their souls everlasting relaxation.
