Basic Yakubu Gowon, rtd, a former Head of State, has mentioned that he grew to become the nation’s chief at age 31 by chance.

Gowon grew to become the youngest ever Head of State on August 1, 1966 and stays the longest serving Nigerian head of state after spending 9 years in workplace between 1966–1975.
