Kidnapped APC chieftain freed after N11m ransom

Felix Oboro, a former Nigerian Ambassador to Venezuela has been freed by his captors.

The previous Secretary to Bayelsa State Authorities was held for 23 days.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain represented Bayelsa West Senatorial District within the Senate.

Okoro was seized on September four at his hometown, Elemebiri in Sagbama Native Authorities Space.

The gunmen, reportedly wearing military uniform, stormed his house at some point after his return.

The Nation quoted Okoro’s stepson, Tuebi Sapre-Obi, as saying three relations travelled by boat to drop N11m ransom.

“Father (Felix Oboro) is powerful and in a wholesome state. When the information of his launch got here, everybody was completely satisfied and jubilating”, he stated.

Former Secretary, Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO), Morris Alagoa and Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide (IYC) spokesman, Ebilade Eerekefe, condemned the kidnapping.

They urged safety companies to trace and arrest the culprits.
