The Nationwide Company for Meals, Medicine Administration and Management (NAFDAC) on Wednesday sealed two counterfeit animal drug factories in Bichi Native Authorities Space of Kano State.
Shaba Muhammad, the state Coordinator of the company, disclosed this throughout a raid performed by the operatives of the company on Wednesday in Bichi.
Muhammad mentioned the raid was needed after the invention of a big amount of the counterfeit animal medication in circulation at Sabon Gari and different main markets in Kano metropolis.
He revealed that the company had been trailing the producer of the pretend medication for the previous six months.
The Coordinator mentioned medication value over N10 million had been recovered by the personnel of the company who raided the factories on Tuesday in Bichi city.
Muhammad famous that the factories produced pretend animal medication and injections labelled with pretend NAFDAC’s registration numbers to deceive unsuspected members of the general public.
He added that the company arrested one suspect, Jamilu Muhammad-Sani, who’s the proprietor of the factories.
Muhammad mentioned that the suspect can be prosecuted after investigations had been concluded by NAFDAC.
He urged the general public to report suspicious actions and individuals engaged within the illicit medication commerce of their communities to the related businesses of presidency to curb the circulation of counterfeit merchandise within the state, NAN studies.
