Prof. Umar Danbatta, the Govt Vice Chairman, EVC, of the Nigerian Communications Fee (NCC), has been awarded the 2019 Zik Prize.
Dambatta received the skilled management class.
The winners had been introduced in a webinar on Thursday by a member of the Advisory Board of the award, Prof. Pat Utomi.
Utomi introduced the NCC EVC and the Group Managing Director/Chief Govt Officer, CEO of United Financial institution for Africa, UBA, Kennedy Uzoka, because the winners in that class.
Utomi mentioned, “Prof Umar Garba Danbatta is a sq. peg in a sq. gap. An instructional professor, Danbatta has, by way of the NCC, led the cost to drive Nigeria’s industrial revolution and knowledge-based financial system leveraging telecommunications.”
Utomi famous that the telecommunications’ contribution to the GDP of Nigeria has grown by 70 per cent from 2015 to 2020, while broadband penetration has leapt from eight per cent to 42 per cent, in the identical interval underneath the management of Prof. Danbatta .
