Newly born child dumped in gutter in Abuja Property

The Police Command in Anambra State has rescued a day-old child wrapped in a material and deserted inside drainage in Abuja property in Awka.

The spokesman for the command, SP Haruna Mohammed, mentioned this in an announcement in Awka.

Mohammed mentioned efforts made to hint the mom of the infant proved abortive, NAN reviews.

“On Oct. 3, at about 8:25 am, a superb Samaritan resident in Abuja Property behind NSCDC workplace Awka, reported at B Division Police Station, Awka at about 7:30 am {that a} day-old-baby was wrapped in a material and deserted inside a gutter on the identical space by an unknown particular person.

“The scene was visited by police operatives, and the infant, which was in good well being situation was rescued,” he mentioned.

Mohammed mentioned the infant was handed over to Time to Fort Care Specialist Medical Centre, Awka, for protected protecting.

Based on him, the state Ministry of Social Welfare, Youngsters and Girls Affairs had been contacted, saying “the infant shall be handed over to the Social Welfare Division of the ministry for correct care.”
