Nigerian Navy deploys 6 warships, 60 gunboats for operation in four States

The Nigerian Navy on Tuesday deployed troops on board six warships and 60 gunboats for a particular navy train.

The drill targets pirates, oil smugglers and different criminalities within the nation’s waters.

Rear Admiral David Adeniran, Flag Officer Commanding Jap Naval Command (ENC), Calabar, made the announcement.

He spoke on the flag-off of the train in Onne, Rivers State, NAN experiences.

The operation code-named, ‘Train Sanga Sung,’ means ‘Protected Transit’ in Ibibio dialect.

The States to be lined are Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ebonyi and Rivers.

The commander defined the operation would consolidate ‘Workouts Bekan Mmon I and II’

Adeniran added that the aim was to coach personnel and test the state of preparedness of fleets.
