Ondo election: Many injured, over 20 automobiles, bikes destroyed as APC, PDP supporters conflict in Owo (PHOTOS)

Political violence rocked Ipele group in Owo Native Authorities Space of Ondo State on Tuesday as supporters of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Occasion, PDP, Eyitayo Jegede and that of the All Progressives Congress, APC, clashed.

The conflict was mentioned to have occurred when the marketing campaign practice of the PDP arrived locally.

Following the incident, Jegede alleged that policemen supervised the assault on his marketing campaign practice by thugs.

In accordance with Jegede, who spoke by his marketing campaign’s Head of Media Analysis, Kayode Fasua, the political thugs suspected to be from the camp of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC attacked supporters of the PDP upon their entry into Ipele.

Particularly, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO of Ipele was alleged to have backed the thugs all by the assault.

In the meantime, the camp of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has accused the PDP candidate of instigating the assault locally.

Whereas emphasizing the PDP is crying greater than the bereaved, the Spokesperson of the Akeredolu/Aiyedatiwa Marketing campaign Group, Olabode Richard Olatunde said that “Eyiyato Jegede SAN, ordered his thugs to unleash coordinated assaults on the harmless individuals of Ipele and Ijebu in Owo native authorities space. Our individuals have been traumatized with the sound of gunshots sporadically by Eyiyato Jegede thugs in Owo immediately.

“Sensing that the PDP is perhaps in the principle city, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, ordered his marketing campaign convoy to take one other route out of the city.

“Regardless of this, Eyitayo Jegede and the PDP nonetheless went forward to trigger mayhem in Owo by attacking harmless members of the general public and anybody with APC or Akeredolu branded caps or T-Shirt.
