Oyo evacuates 32 destitutes in Ibadan [PHOTOS]

Oyo State Authorities on Friday stated it has evacuated no fewer than thirty-two beggars in Ibadan the state capital.

DAILY POST gathered that the evacuation train was carried out round Dugbe market and Mokola underneath bridge in Ibadan, Thursday afternoon.

Commissioner for Ladies Affairs and Social Inclusion, Alhaja Faosat Sanni, who spoke via the Director, Baby Welfare, Mr Sunday Kolajo stated six underage kids, 5 grownup males, 5 grownup ladies, ten male kids in addition to 5 feminine kids amongst whom have been two on wheelchairs.

She stated that the evacuation was a part of the state authorities’s effort at ridding the State of destitute and offering succor to kids used for road begging.

“We’ve got evacuated 32 destitute people from two common places in Ibadan, Dugbe and Mokola Roundabout. They’ve been taken to a particular residence the place they are going to be rehabilitated for a change on their social standing.

“The kids amongst them that have been utilized by their dad and mom as beggars will obtain free schooling after their rehabilitation and medical care, they’re Nigerians, they should be given a greater life like others.”

She stated the State authorities, via the Ministry of Ladies Affairs and Social Inclusion has zero tolerance for youngsters roaming the road as a substitute of going to colleges.
