Cardinal John Onaiyekan has urged the federal government in any respect ranges to show zeal to make sure lasting peace in Nigeria.

The cleric suggested non secular leaders to evangelise towards fanaticism and extremism.
Onaiyekan expressed concern about corruption, dangerous governance, insurgency, killings, and different issues bedevilling Nigeria.
“In a world the place excessive non secular views and ideologies are used to justify violence, crimes and insurgency, the roles that non secular leaders can play in countering such views, ideologies and foster unity, understanding, mutual respect and cooperation can’t be overestimated.

Onaiyekan stated he was satisfied that interfaith cooperation and partnership had been important in advancing inclusive society.
He added that peace can solely be achieved when Nigerians perceive, respect and settle for variations.
