Tears circulate as truck crushes two undergraduate siblings in Ekiti

Tragedy hit Ikere Ekiti, the second-largest metropolis in Ekiti State on Sunday night as two college undergraduates have been crushed to demise by a truck.

The victims; Ojo Hezekiah Abidemi (25) and Ojo Ayomide (21), have been college students of College of Nigeria, Nsukka, a level programme affiliated to the Faculty of Schooling, Ikere Ekiti.

Eyewitnesses advised journalists that the victims have been making strikes to journey to Akure, Ondo State capital to see their dad and mom when the deadly accident occurred.

He mentioned it took the intervention of spirited people to cease some rampaging youths, who wished to set the truck ablaze.

The supply mentioned: “the 2 college students have been on a motorbike and have been going to Akure after they collided with a truck and died on the spot.

“The victims had branched to purchase gasoline at a petroleum station and after they left and entered the street, a transferring truck which was on a excessive velocity overran them and the 2 died immediately”.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti Command, ASP Sunday Abutu, mentioned the 2 have been killed by a transferring truck and their our bodies had been deposited within the morgue.

Abutu mentioned: “it was unhappy and unlucky that two younger males could possibly be killed on account of avoidable accidents.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that it was a case of collision and we attraction to motorists and different street customers to all the time train restraint on roads”.

He added that the driving force of the truck had been arrested and detained by the police.
