Two accountants land in courtroom for allegedly stealing employers N12.1m

Two accountants: Kayode Akinlade and Omotayo Salami, who allegedly stole N12.1 million from their employer, appeared earlier than a Chief Magistrates’ Court docket in Ikeja on Tuesday.

Akinlade, 53, and Salami,34, residents of Oko-Oba space of Lagos State, are going through a two-count cost of conspiracy and stealing.

Ajayi alleged that the defendants hacked into the corporate’s account and stole N12, 162, 000 belonging to their employer.

Ajayi stated the offences contravened Sections 287(7) and 411 of the Prison Regulation of Lagos State, 2015.

The Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) experiences that Part 287(7) stipulates seven years’ jail time period for stealing from one’s employer, whereas Part 411 gives two years for conspiracy.

The Chief Justice of the Peace, Mrs A.O. Ajibade, granted the defendants bail within the sum of N2 million every with two sureties every in like sum.
