Zamfara College: How Yari administration diverted N10.8bn – State Govt

Zamfara Authorities has accused the administration of ex-Governor Abdulaziz Yari of diverting N10.8billion meant for the State’s college mission.

Commissioner of Finance, Rabiu Garba, made the accusation at a press briefing in Gusau on Tuesday.

“Based mostly on the data out there to us, the previous administration within the state had diverted the sum of N10.8billion from the N37billion refunded to the State by the federal authorities”, NAN quoted him as saying.

Garba stated the reimbursement was for the development of 14 federal roads.

The official alleged that the misappropriated fund was transferred in two tranches – N5 billion every.

Additionally, N850 million was transferred to similar account on ninth Might 2019.

Garba lamented that the entire sum was diverted to points that don’t have anything to do with the college mission.
